Wow! What a wonderful cabin, thankfully, because it rained the whole time we were here. We did have a few hours yesterday to go for a walk and it was beautiful. The location was perfect – an 8 ˝ hour drive for both me and my daughter stationed in Lackland to meet. We are already brain storming when we can do this again! This cabin has it all! Comfy – cushy feel. Everything was so clean, I felt we could use things without having to wash it first. I loved that the cold water in the kitchen has a filter. We had no trouble making a Thanksgiving meal here! The owner is so very nice too! When we arrived my 17 year old son went straight for the TV and couldn’t figure it out. He called her Thanksgiving night for directions. She was so nice and gave him what he needed to get it working. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay. We bonded as a family here, watching football, playing games, watching movies. It was great!

This is our third annual Billy Creek trip for the Houck family. This cabin is amazing, comfortable and cozy as it has been for the last 3 years…We are already making our personal list for our fourth annual trip. The trails for ATV riding are amazing, Blue Hole is beautiful. We tried the geocaching and will look more into that for next year. What a wonderful surprise this cabin was. The pictures don’t do it justice. My wife and I have stayed in cabins all over the U.S. and I have found this to be one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Out of many cabins we have stayed in we liked this one the best. Loved the screened in porch, the hummingbirds, and the ability to ride our atvs right from the driveway. The cabin itself is furnished quite nice and comfortable. The tranquility is amazing. We own a business and like to just get away from it all 2 or 3 times a year. We are already discussing when we will return, next time we want to stay in Morningside. Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God." God isn't really closer to us in a mountain cabin setting, but it sure feels like He is! We sometimes need to "peel back the layers" of busy schedules, long to-do lists, heavy traffic, etc., so distractions are gone and HE is so clear. Reading Psalms while gently swinging at Billy Creek's edge in the cool morning was powerful. The views from the Talimena Scenic Byway were worth the whole trip. Psalm 89:12 "The north and the south, Thou hast created them. Tabor and Herman (mountains in the holy land) shall rejoice in thy name." Thank you for sharing your amazing, perfect, beautiful, and thoughtfully appointed cabin with us so we could experience this. It went too fast!

This cabin couldn't have been more perfect for our weekend getaway. We loved the screened-in porch where we could enjoy our morning coffee watching the hummingbirds and avoid the bugs. It was so cozy that we barely left the cabin. We were perfectly content staying inside, watching movies and relaxing in the jacuzzi. It was wonderful!

We loved our stay here. Everything was so nicely appointed. Loved the extra touches and décor. Dish. We enjoyed family time playing checkers and Scrabble, and campfires each evening. The lighted path to the fire pit – great touch! We took an afternoon to enjoy the beauty of the Talimena Drive. WE WILL BE BACK!!! We were astounded by the amount of thought and detail put into the cabin…there were even magnets on the fridge! We rode over 35 miles on our 4-wheelers, but it was much too cold to do anything else. We have always loved coming to the Kiamichi’s for camping, but this was so nice it was hardly camping. Thank you so much for letting us bring our fur-baby, Jenna, and for all of your other hospitality.

This trip was planned on a whim and I am so glad it happened! We just wanted some time away after the madness of the holidays.
